Internships with the Attorney General’s Office
The North Carolina Department of Justice Attorney General’s Office handles issues that affect every aspect of state government and the lives of North Carolina residents. One of the goals of the office is to recruit the best and brightest students to the rewards of serving the people of North Carolina. An effective way to introduce students to public service is through our summer internship program.
Serving as a legal summer intern gives students an opportunity to work alongside some of the state’s very best attorneys to see first-hand the challenges our lawyers face. In addition to assisting the state’s attorneys, interns will also participate in a variety of activities to give them a perspective on our department’s work, such as attending oral arguments in the appellate courts, touring Central Prison and visiting the State Bureau of Investigation crime laboratory.
The 2014 program runs from May 19 until August 1, 2014. Below are links for the Application Instructions, Internship Application and Section Descriptions. Each Section Description explains the requirements and duties of that particular section, as well as identifies the contact person for that section. You are encouraged to apply to as many sections as interest you. Although the January 17th deadline for applications has passed, applicants may still submit materials to sections for consideration.
