On June 10, 2003, the body of 75-year-old Charles Hanley was discovered in his home located at 903 Edgehill Drive in Monroe. Mr. Hanley had been stabbed repeatedly. The victim was a retired Fire Chief from Roosevelt Volunteer Fire Department in New York. At the time of his murder, he was a volunteer fireman with the Mineral Springs Volunteer Fire Department.
