Asha Jaquilla Degree was last seen by her family sleeping in her bed at approximately 2:30 a.m. on February 14, 2000.  At 4:00 a.m., she was last seen by motorists walking along NC HWY 18 in Shelby.

Asha was believed to have been wearing a white shirt, white jeans, white tennis shoes, and perhaps carrying her black "Tweety Bird" purse and a black backpack.  She was described as a black female, 4' 6" tall, 60 lbs. weight, black hair, brown eyes, and was age 9 1/2 at the time of her disappearance (birthdate: August 5, 1990).
