Responding to Crime
The Department of Justice leads the state in responding to crime. We handle special prosecutions, all state criminal appeals, and provide training other assistance to local law enforcement, as well as work to improve the State’s response to crime and other public safety issues. As the Chief Law Enforcement Officer, Attorney General Josh Stein’s number one priority is protecting the people of North Carolina, including on public safety issues.
