Crime Lab Open Houses

In recognition of the importance of forensic science in modern criminal justice and in the spirit of public outreach and education, the North Carolina State Crime Laboratory hosts periodic open houses for the public at the Raleigh & Western Laboratory location. Scientists from the disciplines of Digital Evidence, DNA Database, Drug Chemistry, Firearms, Forensic Biology, Latent Evidence, Toxicology and Trace Evidence will provide demonstrations and answer questions.

For High School Science Teachers:
- During our open house week at the Raleigh Laboratory, we offer field trips for high school science classes (e.g., chemistry, biology, forensic science, health sciences) and students interested in forensic science as a career.
- We are now registering schools for our spring field trip session (March 24-26). Register here to reserve a time slot. You will be notified via email of your status (specific time slot or waiting list).
