(RALEIGH) Attorney General Josh Stein today released the following statement after the North Carolina General Assembly passed House Bill 495.
“Great news: a bill that will help protect North Carolina families from the scourge of fentanyl is headed to the Governor’s desk. I want to thank the General Assembly for passing legislation to ban money laundering (H495), the local, state and federal law enforcement members of my Fentanyl Task Force for bringing us this idea, and the lawyers in my office for working on the language. Cracking down on money laundering will provide law enforcement and prosecutors with more tools to go after the drug traffickers and dealers who are pedaling this poison.”
