The Piedmont Company Police Department is seeking dedicated, hard-working men and women who take pride in serving others.

Role and Responsibilities

Company Police Officers may be engaged in a wide variety of job duties to include: patrol, criminal investigations, traffic enforcement, and other duties as assigned. Company Police Officers are responsible for preventing and detecting crimes, apprehending suspects/criminals, and are required to testify in court. A Company Police Officer responds to complaints, requests for services, preparing records and reports. Tact and firmness are required in frequent public contact. The successful applicant must be capable of good judgment and making independent decisions. An applicant must be truthful and display good ethics and morals. Officers may be required to work (8), (10), or (12) hour permanent or rotating shifts depending on the specific needs of the agency.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

Applicants must successfully complete a screening and evaluation process which includes but is not limited to the following: Thorough Background Investigation, Polygraph, Psychological Evaluation, Physical Examination, and Drug Screen.

  • Must have successfully completed N.C. Basic Law Enforcement Training
  • Must be a minimum of 20 Years of Age
  • Must have a High School Diploma or GED
  • Must Possess a VALID NC Drivers License
  • Previous Law Enforcement experience in a patrol assignment is preferred.
  • Selected applicants will not have a recent criminal record (No felonies, serious misdemeanors, or recent traffic citations)

Required Skills

Fluent writing skills should be displayed for report writing. Clear communication is a must. May occasionally work outdoors in various weather conditions, may be required to stand, walk or operate vehicles for long periods of time.

Pay and Benefits

$37,440.00 – $41,600.00 per year
