The Town of Duck Police Department is seeking an individual to perform general law enforcement duties to include, but not limited to: traffic enforcement and investigation; criminal enforcement and investigation; protecting life and property; responding to calls for service and complaints; writing detailed and accurate reports; testifying in court, and performing other job-related tasks as required.
The Town of Duck is located on the Outer Banks and is Dare County’s northernmost community, and one of the most popular resort destinations on the east coast of the United States. Duck is a sound to sea community and offers residents and visitors outdoor recreational activities, summer events and concerts, watersports, fine dining, world class shopping, art galleries, and a nationally known jazz festival. Of course, the beach is fantastic, and the sunsets are not to be missed!
Duck offers a competitive salary and benefits package, excellent equipment and training and a progressive career development plan. Salary range $39,632 – $64,426.
Applicants must possess a high school diploma or the equivalent, must be 21 years of age, must possess or be able to obtain a NC driver’s license, and must hold or be able to obtain NC Law Enforcement Certification. Applicants currently enrolled in Basic Law Enforcement Training are encouraged to apply.
