Performs all essential job functions of a North Carolina Law Enforcement Officer. Applies the community policing philosophy to all aspects of providing public safety services in a university environment.
Essential Duties Summary:
Performs all essential job functions of a North Carolina Law Enforcement Officer including effecting arrests; preparing investigative and accident reports; exercise independent judgment in search and seizure and arrest situations; operate a police vehicle in all conditions; communicate effectively utilizing the police radio systems; conduct criminal investigations; pursue fleeing suspects; perform rescue operations; utilize various firearms and other use of force tools; conduct foot patrols; conduct surveillance operations; effectively communicate with people in all situations; maintain control when confronted with verbal abuse; administer medical assistance based on level of training; and transport and process detainees.
High school diploma or equivalency. Certification as a Law Enforcement Officer in accordance with the provisions of the North Carolina Criminal Justice Training and Standards Commission. Minimum age 21. Successful completion of a medical examination, psychological evaluation, and drug screen.
$45,000 (10% night shift differential)
