The Administrative Sergeant is responsible for the following:
· Ensuring agency compliance with NC Criminal Justice Training and Standards annual In-Service training.
· Ensuring agency compliance with UNCSA annual/mandated training.
· Proper maintenance and upkeep of all departmental training files.
· Establishing and maintaining a rapport with internal and external partners to ensure all training requirements are completed in a timely manner.
· Serve as the Community Engagement Officer for the agency.
· Build rapport and with campus partners, local residents, and law enforcement partners, to ensure an amicable and congenial relationship exists.
· Schedule annual team building events for the agency.
· Serve as the agency’s Lead Criminal Investigator for major incidents that may transpire on or off campus involving UNCSA students, faculty, or staff. This position will serve in an on call capacity to address this duty.
· Will serve as a back up Patrol Sergeant in the event a Sergeant is out due to some extenuating circumstance.
· Will serve on various committees such as Threat Assessment Team, and others as assigned by the Chief of Police.
· Other duties as assigned by the Chief of Police

A minimum of an associate degree (or 60 hours of college credit) and 4 years of sworn law enforcement officer experience. Certification from NC CJETSC as a commissioned police officer or certification eligible for out of state lateral hires.
Certified North Carolina General Instructor

Prior experience in a campus law enforcement agency preferred, as well as knowledge and understanding of community policing concepts.

Knowledge of Behavior/Threat Assessment Investigations in a higher educational setting, Fleet Management Experience, and Evidence Management Experience is preferred.
