NCJA 10-14: Officer Survival

NCJA 10-14 podcast image

In this episode, we will discuss officer survival. Each day you put your life on the line and you have the stresses of the job that go home with you each day. Today we talk with Instructor/Developer Paul Phelan from the Edneyville campus about dealing with the crisis while on the job, the importance of taking care of oneself as well as the importance of having an accountability partner. Mental health is an important factor of the job, and stress and officer-related suicides can be outcomes if your health isn’t put on your priority list.

To receive more information about officer survival or to talk to Paul directly, he can be reached by email at pphelan@ncdoj.gov.

Live Stream to the 36th Annual NC Police Officers Memorial Service on May 6th, 2021 at 11 AM.
