Anti-Robocall Litigation Task Force | Warning Notices
In 2022, 51 attorneys general joined forces to create the Anti-Robocall Litigation Task Force, which is led by North Carolina Attorney General Jeff Jackson, Indiana Attorney General Todd Rokita, and Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost. The Task Force investigates and takes legal action against companies responsible for significant volumes of illegal and fraudulent robocall traffic routed into and across the United States.
As part of its investigation into the transmission of illegal robocalls and the providers and entities who originate and/or help route them, the Task Force regularly reviews call traffic information provided by industry and law enforcement sources. When information available to the Task Force indicates that a provider or entity is involved in the transmission of calls associated with high-volume illegal and/or suspicious robocall campaigns, the Task Force will issue a warning notice to caution companies that their actions may violate state and federal consumer protection and telemarketing laws.
