Release date: 6/6/2019
(RALEIGH) Attorney General Josh Stein today released a statement in response to news that the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) voted to allow phone carriers to automatically enroll their customers in programs that fight spoofing calls.
“North Carolinians are sick and tired of robocalls,” said Attorney General Josh Stein. “I applaud the FCC for taking this action. I now call on the phone companies to integrate call blocking into their infrastructure. People deserve protection from these calls that are at best annoying and at worst scams.”
Attorney General Stein is leading a 45-state group of attorneys general who are committed to fighting against robocalls.
