Annual In-Service Training Requirements

• Deputy Sheriffs are required to complete the In-Service Training Program for Law Enforcement (24 credits).
• Detention Officers are required to complete the In-Service Training Program for Detention Officers (16 credits).
• Telecommunicators are required to complete the In-Service Training Program for Telecommunicators (16 credits).

The N.C. Justice Academy has developed lesson plans which will satisfy the above training requirements; however, Sheriffs and Telecommunication Agency Heads are free to develop their own lesson plans provided the mandated topical areas are addressed.
